LYON

Lyon is the second biggest city in France after Paris and it still has a huge influence in Europe. Its rich cultural patrimony which dates for two thousand years tells the history of the city.

The city was built around the confluence of two rivers: the Rhône

(on the right) and the Saône (on the left).

The city is very active from a cultural point of view: there are

around thirty museums with permanent collections and with

temporary exhibitions, 15 libraries on average, the

Celestins’ theatre, the opera of Lyon…
