Bellecour
We can say that Bellecour, the area situated on the peninsula between the Rhône and the Saône, is the heart of Lyon because it’s around this area that the city grew. Thanks to its huge size (500 metres long and 280 metres wide), Bellecour square can receive all sorts of demonstrations and parades. We can see in the centre of the square a statue of Louis the XIVth on his horse built in 1715.
